I am famous for desserts among my friends. I always make sure I leave some room for dessert after almost every meal. And this particular recipe it’s the one that I got requested and compliment the most. The different layers of sensation that you experience while eating it, it’s just unbelievable.
First layer of bitter cocoa powder..
Second layer of cold bittersweet chocolate
Third layer, the chocolate slowly melts in your mouth with a hint of coffee and rum.
Chocolate Rum Truffles
150gm Good Quality Dark Chocolate 70%
1cup Heavy Cream
2-3tbsps Good Quality Espresso
2-3tbsps Dark Rum or to your liking.
A pinch of salt
1.In a heavy saucepot, pour in heavy cream, and espresso. Bring it to boil.
2.Remove from heat; add in the chocolate, salt and rum. Keep stirring until the chocolate all melted and turn dark glossy.
3.Pour it into a container and let it cool.
4.Cover and put it in the fridge or freezer till it’s hardened or till its roll able.
5.Cut or use a melon scoop to scoop out the chocolate ganache and roll it into a ball or to any shape that you like. I prefer to have different shape as truffles are meant to be in different size and shape. And it’s more home made looking.
6.Roll the chocolate ganache into a bowl of cocoa powder till it’s fully covered.
7.Keep it back into the fridge or freezer till you are ready to serve it.
